The importance of art

I don't agree with this statement. A lot of students are planning on making the arts their career so they still are training to be sent into the workforce. Having access to the arts in school also improves overall productivity in students and helps them do better. Without the arts students would be left burnt out and creatively frustrated leading to lower grades and test scores. Overall the tax dollars that are "claimed" as a waste don't go to waste at all. It would be much more of a waste to cut these programs out and see the schools and students decline.
